According to information reported by Weex, the National Social Security Administration (ANSES) will begin disbursing pensions and retirements for August with a 1.9% increase, which reflects the Consumer Price Index (CPI) variation from June. This adjustment is supplemented by an extraordinary bonus of up to 70,000 pesos for those receiving the lowest pensions.

As a result, the minimum retirement amount increases to 419,775.93 pesos. With the additional 70,000 pesos, retirees receiving the minimum pension will obtain a total income of 489,775.93 pesos. The bonus is also proportionately paid to those with pensions exceeding the minimum threshold, up to the same income limit.

Mechanism of Adjustment

This increment is part of the mobility mechanism established by Decree 274/2024, which updates pensions monthly based on inflation reported by INDEC with a two-month lag. For August, the adjustment calculation is based on the CPI for June, which recorded a variation of 1.9%.

Payment Schedule by DNI

As usual, ANSES will organize payments according to the last digit of beneficiaries’ National Identity Document (DNI). The schedule differentiates between those receiving the minimum pension and those with higher income. Retirees and pensioners who qualify for the minimum will be the first to receive their payments in the first half of August, followed by those with higher amounts.

Maximum Pension Adjustment

The 1.9% increase will also affect the maximum pension amount within the system. By August 2026, the maximum pension will be set at 2,824,694.50 pesos, which will not receive the extraordinary bonus, as this benefit is exclusive to minimum pensions and those close to that amount.

The disparity between the minimum and maximum pensions remains significant. While the minimum pension requires the bonus to approach 490,000 pesos, those receiving the maximum only benefit from the updated mobility amount.

Updates on Other Benefits

The August adjustment will also impact the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM), aimed at individuals over 65 who lack sufficient contributions for a standard pension. With the 1.9% increase, the PUAM rises to 335,820.74 pesos. Including the extraordinary bonus, the total income will reach 405,820.74 pesos.

Moreover, the Basic Universal Benefit (PBU) will be updated through retirement mobility, reaching approximately 192,028 pesos, which serves as a component for calculating various pensions within the general regime. Non-contributory pensions due to disability and old age will also see the monthly increase. The adjusted amount will rise to 293,843.15 pesos, and combined with the bonus, the total will be 363,843.15 pesos.

Automatic Processing of Benefits

All these amounts will be processed automatically, meaning beneficiaries do not need to undertake additional steps. The increase, bonus, and payment schedule have been confirmed by ANSES and will be implemented in August following the DNI termination of each beneficiary.
